The Pressure of North Korea !

North Korea has a million-strong army, 18,000 artillery pieces and possibly useable nuclear weapons. -  Job Vacancy
Sanctions have limited impact on the North. It is already ignoring UN sanctions restricting trade in military equipment and luxury goods.
It manages to keep going with Chinese help and that is unlikely to be withdrawn.
It might be that the South is left to make a lot of diplomatic noise, with American echoes.
In the end it might have to accept that the lesser of two evils is to make its factual case, protest, gain international support, limit its own dealings with North Korea and then continue to build up its forces for the future.
The China dimension The sinking of the Cheonan is not the first incident along the line of the disputed maritime boundary off the west coast.

NORTH KOREAN ATTACKS

None has led to outright war and there is therefore reason to think that this time as well, the South will have to live with the loss, unless it wants to risk a major conflict.
The investigation's findings have thrown the issue into the lap of US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who happens to be arriving in Beijing this weekend with a huge American delegation to discuss the wider relationship between the US and China.
It is possible that the US, pressed by South Korea, will favour a Security Council meeting and, if such a meeting is to have any traction, China's support will be needed.
And beyond that, if new sanctions are to be imposed, China will have to support them as well, being a veto-holding member of the Council.
Yet China usually prefers to deal with North Korea on a more discreet basis (it recently welcomed North Korea's leader Kim Jong-il to Beijing) and was slow even to express sympathy for the loss of South Korean sailors.
It only comes out against the North if Pyongyang does something with wide international ramifications, notably its nuclear testing.
Suspended talks The US might, at this moment, be more concerned to keep Chinese support for sanctions against Iran - agreed by the major Security Council powers this week - than to use its diplomatic credit up in seeking further sanctions on North Korea.

The prospects for settling the disputed maritime border are about as distant as the prospects for getting North Korea to give up its nuclear weapons capability. Talks about the latter are currently in suspension.
North and South Korea did nearly come to a maritime modus vivendi in 2007 in talks involving the then South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun. 


The idea was to concentrate on fishing - and fishing is a major North Korean concern in the disputed waters as its fishermen seek the south-migrating blue-crab from June to September.
But it came to nothing and the North clearly remains ready and willing to defend its interests there, with the South determined to uphold its position as well.
Some international experts think that what is known as the Northern Limit Line, drawn by the UN after the Korean war, should be moved in North Korea's favour, since the old international three-mile maritime limit has made way for 12.
But given the overall state of relations between North and South, there are no realistic hopes of an agreement.
There may well be further incidents ahead.

The North Korean artillery shelling - which killed two South Korean civilians and two marines - was one of the worst incidents between the two Koreas since the end of the Korean war in 1953, which concluded without a peace treaty.
'Reckless provocation' President Lee Myung-Bak accepted Mr Kim's resignation "to improve the atmosphere in the military and to handle the series of incidents," a presidential official said.
Earlier on Friday local news agencies reported that Lee Hee-Won, 61, had been named as new defence minister. Mr Lee is a former four-star general who became deputy chief of the US-South Korea Joint Forces Command in 2005.
He retired from the military in 2006 and was made a presidential security advisor in May following the sinking of the Cheonan, a South Korean warship.
In response to Tuesday's incident South Korea has increased troop numbers on the island, Yeonpyeong, and has said it is changing its rules of engagement to allow it to respond more forcefully to similar incidents. The old rules have been criticised as too passive.

Whoever is appointed will now have the opportunity to overhaul the country's security apparatus, says the BBC's Chris Hogg in the South Korean capital, Seoul.
The cabinet had decided that under the old rules of engagement there was too much emphasis on preventing a military incident escalating into something worse, our correspondent adds.
In future, the South would implement different levels of response depending on whether the North attacked military or civilian targets, a presidential spokesman said.
The US aircraft carrier group led by the USS George Washington is meanwhile on its way to participate in exercises with the South Korean navy - a move arranged before the incident with the North.
North Korea has warned it will "wage second and even third rounds of attacks without any hesitation if warmongers in South Korea make reckless military provocations again".

Putting "Trump" in large gold letters on Trump Tower may have started as an ego-trip, but it quickly turned into a smart business move. Today he estimates the brand centred on his name as being worth $3bn - about half the $6bn he says he's worth.
Others dispute the figures: the authoritative Forbes Rich List, with which he regularly disagrees, has him down for 'only' $2bn to $3bn.
Whatever the number, nobody disputes that the name Donald J. Trump, on a residential building, a hotel, or even a silk tie, gives it a value it wouldn't have if it was branded Donald J. Bloggs.
Ned Eichler, a businessman who dealt with Trump in the early days, recognised Trump's priorities right from his first project. Trump's career, recalls Eichler, was never just about money: "money was just part of the fame, but fame was the real goal."

Trump turned fame into money by writing an early autobiography and self-help book, The Art of the Deal, a couple of years before his financial crisis. He plugged it relentlessly, even turning up on the Wogan show with his wife Ivana. The book was a huge best-seller, adding to the name-recognition he had already created.
In his late eighties crisis, when a slew of Trump businesses were struggling to keep up interest payments on massive loans, his creditors had to decide whether to pull the plug on his empire. That they decided not to, says his biographer Gwenda Blair, was thanks to his name recognition:
"He was one of the first to get, that getting his name on things, getting his name associated with luxury, and making himself the central character, would make him the irreplaceable piece."
He was, in a phrase the recent global financial crisis has made familiar again, "too big to fail".
New caution Trump has his own account of how he scraped through that crisis, saying "it turned out that the banks liked me a lot". But he admits he 'took his eye off the ball' in the late eighties, over-expanding and believing his own hype.

At 64, Donald Trump is still firing on all cylinders. In years to come, it will be up to his children to maintain the right kind of media profile, so that the company can keep charging a premium for the name Mr Trump has worked so hard to associate with success.

Iranian Man Charged in Nigeria Over Arms Shipment !!!

Azim Aghajani appeared in court in Abuja, but did not enter a plea.
Court documents reportedly identified him as a Tehran businessman, and also a member of Iran's Revolutionary Guards.
Three Nigerians have also been charged in connection with the shipment, which included rockets and grenades hidden between building materials.
The court said Mr Aghajani had been charged with attempting to import prohibited arms into Nigeria and conspiring to send the illegal shipment to Gambia.
The Iranian said he needed his embassy to represent him before he could present his plea.
Two of the three Nigerian defendants were only charged with conspiring to re-export the shipment to Gambia.

All four men are reported to be in custody in the Nigerian capital.

The BBC's Fidelis Mbah in Port Harcourt, who has been following the case, says Mr Aghajani's court appearance came as a surprise.
People were not aware that Mr Aghajani was going to be charged in court, as the Iranian government had been reaching out to their Nigerian counterparts to find ways of resolving this issue, our correspondent says.
The arms were discovered at Apapa seaport in Lagos in October. They were hidden in 13 containers shipped from Iran, which were labelled as building supplies.
Mr Aghajani is believed to be the man who was questioned inside the Iranian embassy in Nigeria several weeks ago in relation to the shipment.

There were reports that the Nigerian authorities wanted to question a second Iranian national, but that he had since left the country.
Iran has said the weapons were the subject of a "misunderstanding" that has now been cleared up.
Nigeria reported the seizure of the shipment to the UN Security Council for an apparent breach of the sanctions against Iran.
Another illegal shipment of weapons was discovered in Lagos on Wednesday, increasing fears among some Nigerians of possible violence ahead of next year's elections.

Sticking to the budget is hard especially if the given budget is not as big as you expect it to be. Times like this, you need to cut back on your spending. That is why you need to have a budget. If you are unaware as to how much you'll spend, you'll end up spending too much. Stick to a limit and be sure your budget is reasonable. Try to come up with a limit that is enough to buy foods to sustain you for 2 weeks.

A good money saver tip is to cut back on your meat consumption. Meat is priced a bit higher compared to vegetables. Try to make some dishes wherein meat is not the main ingredient. You could cook something Italian with less or no meat at all. Vegetables are good alternatives for meat. There's also gluten if you want.
Sale items are good deals. If you have some coupons, you can use it and you can even have discounts. If the item is on sale, you might want to buy in bulks. Only buy in bulks if you usually use it. Buy a dozen of the sale item. Also, you might want to do the grocery when your kids are in school. Household Budgeting With a Scalpel

Indonesia Job - Long before the current downturn in the economy, I was a frugal person who enjoyed doing household budgeting. I used coupons, drove as little as possible to save money on gas (even when gas was inexpensive), and took my lunch to work. Even being a frugal person, I found myself buying a lot more stuff than I needed, though. When I looked around our house which is large for two people, I saw a lot of things that were simply collecting dust that we didn't use. At that moment, I realized that my husband and I could do a lot better at saving money. After this realization, we got to work using a scalpel to carve out more savings and less spending and this is what we did to save on our monthly budget. - Job Vacancy.

First, we wrote down every bill that we had for the month and asked ourselves if we really needed to spend money on this item or service. We also spent time that month writing down every small purchase that we made in a notebook to chart just how much money was being spent in small increments for items like coffee, newspapers, or lunch. We reviewed the list and found lots of items or services that we could live without.

Cable television - We decided that we didn't watch enough television to justify spending $75 per month for cable television. Instead, we use an inexpensive service that delivers videos via the mail service two or three at a time. We get our news and weather from the internet and received most of the series that we liked on CD.

Cell phone - We were paying approximately $90 for 700 minutes from a well known cell phone service provider. I found a much lower cost and better plan provider from a pay-as-you-go service that uses a network from a large, well-known provider. We now have unlimited minutes and internet access for $15 less per month. We are saving money, getting more services, and we aren't locked into a contract.

Carpooling - My husband and I worked fifteen minutes away from each other. We bit the bullet and decided that the extra 30 minutes of commute time per day was worth it to save money on gas and car maintenance. An added benefit was having someone to converse with on the trip instead of simply listening to the radio.
Eating out at restaurants - We used to eat in a restaurant where the bill averaged between $25 and $40 once or twice a week. While we enjoyed this practice, we realized that we were spending an extra $1800 per year (average $35 x 2 x 52). We limited ourselves to eating out once per month which did save a lot and reduced our waistlines as well.

Buying in bulk - Being a frugal person, I was never very good at buying in bulk because I simply didn't want to spend that much money on groceries (which is probably why we spent so much money eating out!). I realized that I was costing us money by not stocking up on sale items that we really use. I bought a membership to a wholesale club and go once a month. While I spend a lot in one shop, I also save money because I am buying things usually on sale in large quantities. I also save time because I only have to go to the conventional grocery store for items that go out of date like bread, eggs, and salad. We also now
make a concerted effort to eat all of the food that I fix which also saves money and reduces the waste from our home.

Using coupons wisely - I was the worlds worst about using a coupon to get something at a very low cost or free but that we would not use. So, I stopped doing that because I realized that I wasn't really saving money, I was just cluttering up the house.

Limited my shopping - For many years, I have been a thrift store shopper. This is a great way of buying great clothes at inexpensive prices for the entire family. It becomes a problem, though, when you buy a lot of clothes that you don't need. I found that I was going twice or three times per month to my favorite thrift store spending between $30 and $50. I realized that I while I enjoyed shopping; I really didn't NEED all of those clothes. I now limit myself to a thrift store trip once per month and my spending limit is $20. I have less clutter in my closet and we save money.

Revisit our Vacation - We used to take a pretty lavish vacation for ten days per year. We would fly somewhere, rent a car, and stay in a nice hotel (not extravagant but nice nevertheless). We would also treat ourselves to nights out and dinner plus drinks. All of that added up fast! Now, we drive to the beach that is about four hours from our home, stay in a nice but moderately priced condo, and eat in. In fact, cooking on vacation is much less expensive and I have control over how the food is cooked. We also save money by taking in all of the free things that are available (museums, parks, the beach). We still have a wonderful time but have cut the cost of our vacation by about 50 percent.

After a few months of whittling down our budget, we save about $400 per month or $3600 per year which has given us much more financial freedom and peace of mind but we haven't missed anything that we cut out. If you are struggling to save money, I would recommend using a virtual scalpel to cut your budget as well. You can cut out unneeded purchases and watch your savings account grow!

The more responsibility a specific job has, the more difficult the questions will be. Any job that involves supervising or managing people, or parts of an organization, will be highly competitive. You’ll need to be able to think on your feet at the interview. This may be your only shot at impressing the employer.

One of the big fears of going into a job interview is being asked a tough question and having no response except a blank look on your face. This would be the worst case scenario, of course, but it plays out in many people’s heads. Unfortunately, this scenario could become a reality unless you prepare ahead of time for a challenging interview.

Here’s an example of some tough sample job interview questions:

Tell me what you enjoyed about your last job? What you didn’t like?

The first part of this question is easy. Most people can find one or more things they liked about a job, even if they thought the job sucked. The second part is tricky. You know you shouldn’t bad mouth your former employer, but you still need to think of something to say.

Pick one thing that you didn’t like about your last job and explain that it bothered you because you felt the company could do better in this area. Give a suggestion of what you would improve. Stay away from negative comments about former coworkers or the company.

Why did you leave your last job?

Stay away from money reasons or negative issues with former coworkers. Instead, explain that you left to find opportunities to grow, explore new interests, etc.

Give an example of how you made an impact at your last job?

If you’ve never thought much about this, then now’s the time. Every person’s job at a company has a direct or indirect impact on the people around them, the organization and those that come into contact with the company. Find an example of something you did at your job that had a positive impact on either your coworkers, the company or the company’s customers.

Describe your biggest challenge and how you handled it?

You must take time to think about this one. There’s no way you will come up with a good answer on the fly. Think of a person, place or thing that made it difficult for you to do your job. How did you work around this obstacle and come out a winner?

Describe your decision making process.

You want to appear strong on this one. So, you need to figure out if you make decisions quick and confidently, or like to weigh the pros and cons of an idea first before coming to the best solution for the situation.

There’s no right or wrong to this question, the employer is trying to find out if you are capable of taking decisive action when needed. Some people have difficulty making up their minds. These are not the people they’re looking to hire.

How would you describe your management style?

Here’s where you tell them what type of manager you think you are. Are you very hands on or do you like to give people more independence and act in a supporting role?

Are you a people person?

Are you strict, but fair?

Know what your style is and be very honest with the employer about this.

What is your greatest weakness?

Warning: this is a question that can stop you cold in an interview. We’re so used to talking about our strengths in an interview situation that often we don’t have a clue what to say to someone asking us to describe a weakness.

However, you cannot stay silent. If you do, you may lose your chance at the position. The employer isn’t that interested in hearing about your weakness as they are in seeing how you handle the question. The ironic thing is that if you stare at them blankly on this one, you’ll end up looking weak – even if you were great a moment before.

Say something like you’re too chatty or overconfident or maybe a tad bit too focused on little details, etc. Pick a lightweight weakness and turn it into a positive. You talk a lot because you’re a people person. You’re overconfident at times, but careful not to step on anyone’s toes. You’re picky about details because you care about the quality of your work. Keep a smile on your face while answering.

What assets and talents do you feel you can contribute to our company?

Here is where you should shine. Give them action steps you will take to be a top performer in their organization. Don’t say that you “feel” you would do this or that. Tell them exactly what you WILL do. Act like you’re already one of the team and all they need to do let you loose and you will help their company soar to new heights.
